Portal Gun Drifter 7DRL
You stole a portal gun, now you are on the run. Tear through hordes of enemies and scavenge enough energy to power your next jump.
Collect Energy Orbs to progress to next level. Pick up ammo and mutagens along the way. Remember to aim your weapon (press space) to narrow your aiming cone.
The game currently has 6 enemy types, 3 weapons, and 10 upgrades. I initially planned for more content — different biomes and distinct upgrade paths per weapon — but had to cut scope to fit the 7DRL timeframe.
Controls
WASD / Arrows : Move
Shift + Move : Dash 3 tiles
Mouse Aim + Click : Attack
Space : Aim
Q : Switch Weapon
R : Reload

Game is written in Typescript with Phaser engine, bitECS and React.
ZzFX for sound effects
Map generation:
Random walk inspired by Nuclear Throne as described here and here.
I made all the art myself, used Claude for most of the coding.

Feels like this wasn't fully translated from an Action Roguelike concept into a Traditional one. Felt like aiming could have been quicker (like one turn), forced cardinal directional movement on enemies (or 8-way movement on the player), or maybe more leeway from enemies spawning in might have helped. Giving enemies some disadvantages might have been a good idea too.
